1974 super beetle project that I’m building for my daughter, who is 3 months old. I took the body off, welded patches in, and painted the pan. I painted the front trunk and the engine compartment. I completely rebuilt the original 1600 and turned it into a 1679 with 88mm thick wall pistons and 90.5 heads. I rebuilt the steering box, changed shock inserts and restored all the front suspension parts. I put in a new master cylinder, brake lines, and all new brake parts at each wheel. Then I put the body back on and got it moving under its own power. I reupholstered all the seats too. It’s going to the body/paint guy and then interior, and reassembly will start!
