Hey! My name is Tate. I picked up my 1971 super beetle in October 2020. It’s my first aircooled vw, I’ve owned so many vdubs but all watercooled. This one had been bought 20 years ago with plans for restoring it but that never happened.
I saw it on Facebook and went to look at it. It was rough but I didn’t see any major rust so went ahead and dragged it home. Worked on it all winter. I even learned to weld and replaced the radio cutout, floor under the battery and front apron. I don’t have a garage so the weather slowed me down a lot. I finally got it on the road in May 2021 and cruise it every weekend!
